NEWINGTON — Fire Chief E.J. Hoyt is pleased to announce the Newington Fire Department has recently promoted two of its members and hired two full-time firefighters.
Acting Lt. Jeremy J. Nicol and Firefighter Brandon J. Lisowski have each been promoted to the position of Lieutenant. Jessica L. Plante and Dave Corcoranhave also been hired as firefighters at the Newington Fire Department. As a result of their hires, the Newington Fire Department now has no vacant positions and has a full staff of full-time members.
“Lt. Nicol and Lt. Lisowski have each demonstrated their dedication to serving the Town of Newington and commitment to honing and growing their skills in the fire service, and we are proud to announce their promotions,” Chief Hoyt said. “We are also happy to welcome our newest members of the Newington Fire Department team. Both Jessica and Dave bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our town and we look forward to working alongside them.”
Lt. Jeremy J. Nichol
Lt. Nicol has been with the Newington Fire Department since 2018 and has more than 25 years of experience in the fire service industry.
He holds numerous certifications and licenses including Firefighter I & II, Airport Firefighter including Space Shuttle Rescue, Fire Officer I & II, Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Instructor I & II, Incident Safety Officer, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, HAZMAT Awareness and Operations including Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Confined Space Rescue, Electrical Hazard Class, ITRS (Introduction to Technical Rescue Systems), NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) — Basic, C2F2 & Career, ICS (Incident Command Systems) 100, ICS 200, ICS 700 and Public Tele-communicator I & II.
He additionally holds a Commercial Driver License-B and is a certified Driver/Operator Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF), Driver/Operator Mobile Water Supply, Driver/Operator Pumper and Driver/Operator Aerial.
Lt. Brandon J. Lisowski
Lt. Lisowski has served the Newington Fire Department as a firefighter since 2014.
He holds certifications including Firefighter I & II, Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) 2015, Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Fire Ground Survival, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, and Advanced EMT. He is also currently enrolled in additional education and certification programs.
Firefighter Jessica L. Plante
Firefighter Plante joins the department with 19 years of experience culminating most recently in the position of Inspector/Firefighter-AEMT for the Town of Durham.
She holds certifications including Firefighter I & II, Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Investigator, Fire Officer I & II (Maine Certificate), Instructor I, ICS 100, ICS 200, Driver and Operator.
She holds a bachelors’ degree in criminology from the University of Tampa and is currently enrolled in an associate degree in Fire Science program at Southern Maine Community College.
Firefighter Dave Corcoran
Firefighter Corcoran joins the department with 13 years of experience and previously worked at the Dover Fire Department.
He is a nationally registered AEMT, New England EMS Institute (NEEMSI), and holds additional certifications including ARFF Firefighter, ARFF Driver/Operator, Advanced Level EMS NH & ME, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 400, ICS 700, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Certified Pumper Driver/Operator, IFSAC Certified Mobile Water Supply, IFSAC Certified Fire Instructor 1 and IFSAC Certified Fire Officer 1.
Firefighter Corcoran holds a bachelors’ degree in psychology from the University of New Hampshire-Durham.
