MAYNARD– Chief Anthony Stowers wishes to remind residents the Maynard Fire Department battled a serious, 2-alarm building fire early Sunday morning.
Crews responded to 79 Main St. at 7:10 a.m. after receiving multiple phone calls reporting smoke coming from the rear of the building. The first arriving crews had fire showing upon arrival, and a second alarm response was quickly struck.
The fire occurred at the TrueNature Salt Therapy store in the Main Street business district, consisting of dense commercial buildings located close to each other. The fast work and aggressive attack of the firefighters kept the fire confined to the building of origin.
No one was injured. The building sustained significant fire, water and smoke damage.
Mutual aid was provided by fire crews from Acton, Boxborough, Stow, Concord, Sudbury, Lincoln, Hudson, and the Department of Fire Services Rehabilitation Unit.
