HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith reports that the Holbrook Police Department arrested a man on multiple charges after he crashed into a police cruiser late Saturday night.
PIERRE DEUS, AGE 33, of MATTAPAN is charged with:
- Operating Under the Influence of Liquor
- Operating to Endanger
- Marked Lanes Violation
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, police and EMS responded to Pond Street for a report that a Holbrook police cruiser had been struck by a black Mercedes sedan.
Upon arrival, Sgt. Daniel Ford observed a black Mercedes sedan with heavy front end damage and a police cruiser with heavy damage to its driver side.
The operator of the Mercedes was later identified as DEUS. DEUS had allegedly crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic when he struck the police cruiser.
After an initial investigation, Holbrook Police determined that DEUS was under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest.
The officer who was driving the cruiser was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released. DEUS declined medical treatment.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
DEUS is expected to be arraigned today at Quincy District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
