HANSON — Chief Michael Miksch reports that the Hanson Police Department responded to a serious crash between a motorcycle and a passenger car Friday night.

On Friday, Sept. 4 just before 7:50 p.m., the Hanson Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the intersection of Camp Kiwanee Road and Indian Head Street for a reported crash. Upon arrival, first responders found a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle and 2010 Audi that had collided in the intersection, and the motorcycle operator, a 67-year-old Hanson man, on the ground with serious injuries.

The motorcycle operator was taken by the Hanson Fire Department to a nearby landing zone, where he was taken by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital to be treated for injures that are considered serious, but not life threatening.

The driver of the Audi, a 34-year-old Bridgewater man, was issued a citation for a Marked Lanes Violation to appear in the Plymouth District Court at a later date. The driver of the Audi was not injured.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling north on Indian Head Street as the operator of the Audi turned south, coming out into the roadway, when the two collided.

The crash is under investigation by Hanson Police Officer Kevin McCarthy.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
