CANTON — Chief Charles Doody and the Canton Fire Department would like to provide residents with a list of available COVID-19 testing sites in the surrounding area.

“As we approach the end of summer, we want to remind residents that this virus has not gone away and it is still as important as ever to continue to practice social distancing and proper hygiene and to wear a face mask in public,” Chief Doody said. “Getting tested is also critical to slowing down the spread of the virus, so we encourage residents to take advantage of nearby testing resources.”

The following testing sites are located within a 5-mile radius of Canton:

PhysicianOne Urgent Care Westwood, 211 University Ave., Westwood

  • 781-776-4094
  • Appointment Required: Preferred

Atrius Health – Harvard Vanguard Norwood, 1177 Providence Hwy., Norwood

  • 617-629-6000
  • Appointment Required: Yes

Norwood Urgent Care, 1210 Providence Hwy., Norwood

  • Appointment Required: No

CareCentral Urgent Care Stoughton, 286 Washington St., Stoughton

An interactive testing map has been made available by the state for residents to find a nearby testing site. The interactive map can be accessed here. A full list of testing sites statewide can be found here.

Those who are looking to be tested are encouraged to contact a testing site prior to their arrival. Sites may require an appointment, screening and/or a referral.

Those who develop any symptoms of COVID-19, even if they are mild symptoms, should get tested. According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), symptoms of COVID-19 include fever or chills, signs of lower respiratory illness such as a cough or shortness of breath, fatigue, sore throat, headache or new loss of sense of taste or smell.

In addition, those who are identified to be a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 should get tested.

Residents who would like more information on COVID-19 testing sites can visit mass.gov/covid-19-testing.
