NEWPORT — Chief Travis Bingham reports that a Newport woman wanted after failing to bring back a three-year-old child to the Vermont Department for Children and Families when required turned herself in Monday.
SHANNON WEBB, 41 OF NEWPORT, was charged with Custodial Interference and Obstruction of Justice.
WEBB turned herself in at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the Newport DCF office. She was arraigned on Monday and released on conditions issued by the court.
On Friday, July 17, the Newport Police Department sought the public’s help after WEBB failed to bring a three-year-old child back to DCF at the required time. The child has been safely returned to DCF custody.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
