ANDOVER — Police Chief Patrick Keefe and Fire Chief Michael B. Mansfield report that the Andover Police Department and Fire Rescue responded to a drowning on Sunday after a man was found unresponsive at the bottom of a pool.
Around 3:35 p.m. that day, both departments responded to a Gavin Circle home for a reported drowning after a 72-year-old man was found at the bottom of the pool. First responders were able to get the man out of the pool and began performing CPR on the victim, who was unresponsive.
The man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Andover Police Department.
