MEDWAY — Superintendent Armand Pires and Medway High School Principal John Murray are pleased to share that the top 10% of Medway’s Class of 2020 graduates have been recognized for their achievements by the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC).
Each year, the MACC and businesses throughout the community honor the top 10% of the graduating class of high schools in the greater Milford area.
Medway High School’s honorees, in alphabetical order, are: William Brooks, Elisa Cook, Ethan Core, Ryan Davin, Emma D’Entremont, Ethan Fennyery, Sadie Green, Kylie Hansbury, Samuel Jacobs, Daniel Labbe, Kelly Lanoue, Samuel McKeown (Senior Class President), Max Olson, Joseph Pierre-Louis, Erene Poktor, Tara Shippos, Ryan Spillane, Ram Tysoe, Nicole Wong and Trevor Woodard.
The graduates are usually celebrated at MACC’s Honors Scholar Night, but this year’s event had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The MACC still intends to give each student a certificate from the Chamber, a citation of merit from the students’ respective elected officials and a keepsake event brochure with their name and school listed.
“These students have shown great strength and dedication in the face of unusual circumstances this year,” Principal Murray said. “Even though they aren’t able to be recognized in person, it’s great to see them honored by the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce and local businesses for their dedication and academic success this year.”
The other students honored by the MACC include the top graduates from Bellingham, Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, Franklin, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Milford, Millis, Nipmuc Regional and Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical high schools.
