NEW LONDON, N.H. — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to share that Kearsarge Regional School District recently came together to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.

Teacher Appreciation Week began Monday, May 4 and ended Friday, May 8. Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, communities rallied this May to recognize the critical role educators play in the lives of their students and thank them, particularly for their efforts to continue to engage students through remote learning.

“We’re fortunate at Kearsarge to have a team of educators who care deeply about their students, and who have been exemplary in their efforts to offer the most engaging, rewarding remote learning opportunities possible during this pandemic,” Superintendent Feneberg said. “I’d like to thank them all for everything they do, as well as the students, parent volunteers and staff who helped celebrate our teachers last week.”

Kearsarge Regional School District students created videos thanking their teachers and sharing their appreciation, including a video featuring elementary school students holding hand made signs and sharing personalized messages for their teachers, which can be viewed here.

The Kearsarge High School Student Council also shared an E-Card on Tuesday, May 5, with faculty and sent personalized calendars to educators on Wednesday, May 6.

Kearsarge Regional High School typically hosts an ice cream social each year during Teacher Appreciation Week. With school facilities closed for the remainder of the school year due to COVID-19, however, the student council gave faculty members gift certificates to Bubba’s Ice Cream in Newbury to maintain the ice cream tradition.

Additionally, students at Kearsarge Regional Middle School wrote messages of appreciation to their teachers last week, and administrators also mailed Dunkin’ gift cards to teachers.

The Parent Teacher Organization at Kearsarge Regional Elementary School at Bradford additionally gifted flowers to educators last week, who had the opportunity to pick up the flowers at the school.
