EAST BRIDGEWATER — Town Administrator Brian S. Noble and Board of Health Chairman Peter P. Spagone, Jr. report that the East Bridgewater Board of Health has formed the Reopening East Bridgewater Working Group to structure the next phase of the town’s COVID-19 response.
The Board of Health anticipates that as the town passes through the peak of the pandemic, businesses, organizations and residents will be able to gradually and safely return to private and public venues based on specific state and local conditions and guidelines. Local operations that can be done safely should be able to take place in accordance with public health guidance that will continue to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Chairman Spagone has invited the following individuals to work with the Board of Health on proposals for how, and under what conditions, the East Bridgewater community may be able to begin to reopen:
- David Sheedy, East Bridgewater Board of Selectmen
- Brian Noble, East Bridgewater Town Administrator
- Tim Harhen, East Bridgewater Fire Chief
- Paul O’Brien, East Bridgewater Police Chief
- John Haines, East Bridgewater Director of Public Works
- Elizabeth Legault, East Bridgewater Superintendent of Schools
- Nancy Hill, East Bridgewater Council on Aging Director
Once state restrictions regarding COVID-19 are lessened, the Reopening East Bridgewater Working Group will issue mandatory standards, in coordination with the state, which all local businesses, organizations and residents must follow. These standards will be part of an innovative and creative strategy specific to the town that can be implemented to keep the public safe while easing back into economic and social activity.
Updates about the Working Group’s activities will be provided to the community as necessary.
