First Responders Throughout Region to Line Up Outside Hospital During Shift Change

EASTON — Fire Chief Kevin Partridge and Police Chief Gary Sullivan are pleased to announce that the Easton Fire and Police Departments will be among several first responder agencies throughout the region paying a special visit to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton next week to show their appreciation to the hospital’s employees.

Media members who are interested in covering this event should contact Lynn Corneliu, Good Samaritan’s Director of Marketing, Public Affairs and Community Health, at 781-706-2459 or at [email protected]

WHEN:

Monday, April 20 at 2:30 p.m.

WHERE:

Good Samaritan Medical Center, 235 North Pearl St., Brockton

WHAT:

EFD and EPD will be among several police, fire, EMS and EMA personnel from departments and organizations throughout the region participating in the event.

First responders will be driving their police cruisers, fire engines and ambulances through the hospital parking lot and will then loop around and park along the North Pearl Street entrance Monday afternoon.

They will then wave and say thank you to the hospital workers as some arrive to work and others leave work during the 3 p.m. shift change.

“Our hospital workers are so important in this fight against the coronavirus and Chief Sullivan and I wanted to find a way to give thanks to them during these unprecedented times,” Fire Chief Partridge said. “Brockton has been hit particularly hard by COVID-19, so we wanted to show our gratitude for the men and woman at Good Sam and let them know that we appreciate everything they are doing.”

Police Chief Sullivan said, “Giving thanks to the hospital workers and showing them support will mean a lot to our first responders. Many of us have family members or friends who are in the healthcare industry and go to work everyday to face this crisis head on. It’s truly inspiring what they’ve been doing and showing our appreciation is the least we could do.”
