Glove Cleaners and Safety Products Inc. to Give Away Disinfectant from 10 a.m. to Noon Today

WRENTHAM — Town Administrator Kevin Sweet is pleased to announce that a local company will be giving away free bottles of disinfectant to Wrentham and Plainville residents at an event Friday morning.

WHEN:

Friday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to Noon.

WHERE:

Old Safety Complex, 157 South St., Plainville

WHAT:

Glove Cleaners and Safety Products, Inc., a Plainville-based Personal Protective Equipment, Janitorial and Chemical Supply Company is holding a community event on Friday to give away free bottles of disinfectant to Wrentham and Plainville residents.

The business is working with the Plainville Police Department in an effort to give back to the community.

This Ready to Use disinfectant is effective against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and can be applied to both hard and soft surfaces for a period of two minutes to guarantee efficacy. For food contact surfaces, after disinfecting, the surface should be rinsed again with potable water. The disinfectant should stay out of the reach of children and residents are advised to read the labels carefully.

Supplies are limited and residents are asked to remain home if they are sick.

Glove Cleaners employees have volunteered to help distribute the product and they will be protected via face masks, gloves, suits and face shields and plan to distribute with absolutely no contact with residents.

Drivers will enter one way into the complex, pull up to one of four stations, pop their trunk and the disinfectant will be placed inside the vehicle’s trunk. Once the trunk is closed, residents are asked to keep driving so that the products can be distributed quickly and effectively. Residents are expected to remain in their vehicles with the windows closed at all times.

Plainville Police Department will be on hand to help coordinate congestion and assist in keeping everyone safe and protected.

Considerations have been made for the elderly in both communities and disinfectant will also be distributed via the Meals on Wheels program to all recipients in both towns.

This distribution will run on a first come, first served basis and is limited to one bottle per family.

Glove Cleaners is committed to keeping their customers and their community safe at all times, but especially in this trying time.

“We want to thank Glove Cleaners for their generosity and for opening up this program to our residents,” Town Administrator Sweet said. “Disinfectant can be hard to come by at the store these days. We hope residents that need it will take advantage of this great opportunity.”
