Town Offices, Frothingham Hall to Remain Closed to Public Until May 4

EASTON — Emergency Management Director Kevin Partridge, Director of Health and Community Services Kristin Kennedy and Town Administrator Connor Read wish to provide regular updates to the community regarding the Town’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic as officials continue to monitor the crisis locally and nationally.

Town Offices, Frothingham Hall Closures Extended

In accordance with Governor Charlie Baker’s continued emergency actions closing schools until May 4, limiting gatherings and additional efforts to maximize social distancing and reduce the spread of COVID-19, Easton Town Offices and Frothingham Hall will remain closed to the public until Monday, May 4. All departments are working remotely and are reachable during regular business hours via telephone, email or U.S. mail. Any inquiries for service should be directed to the departments directly using contact information available here.

Easton Police, Fire and Dispatch emergency response services, as well as Easton DPW remain fully operational, however, office locations are closed to public access with the exception of the Police Station on Lothrop Street for emergencies only. The departments are reachable via email and phone.

During this State of Emergency, all activities on playgrounds and group or team play on fields and courts are prohibited. Outdoor activities such as walking, running, biking and hiking, with members of the same household, are options for exercise that minimize contact and maximize social distancing.

Town of Easton COVID-19 Website Updates

The Town has consolidated all of its press releases and public health guidance and directives into one central webpage for convenient use. The dedicated page includes daily confirmed COVID-19 case counts in Easton which is updated daily by 6 p.m.

The page also includes local, state and national health guidance, contact information for the Town’s information line, municipal service information and many other helpful resources.

The page can be accessed at easton.ma.us/covid-19/.

Municipal Service Availability Page

The Easton service availability page serves as a central location for all current municipal service impacts relating to COVID-19 and will be updated on a regular basis if and when the situation changes.

All department contact information is available at the bottom of the page. All departments, including those working remotely, are reachable during regular business hours via telephone, email or U.S. mail. Any inquiries for service should be directed to the individual departments.

The page can be accessed here.

Additional Guidelines

Residents are urgently encouraged to continue to practice proper personal hygiene and aggressive social distancing. It is vitally important for residents to stop congregating outside, stop group play and team sports at parks, and to take these critical public safety messages seriously. What you do today will have a dramatic impact on cases we see next week and month. Taking action now is doing our part to slow the spread of the virus, to reduce the number of people infected and to avoid overwhelming our first responders and our health care system.

As always, if anyone displays symptoms of COVID-19, including a fever, cough or shortness of breath, they should stay home and are advised to contact their primary care physician.
