WEST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Victor Flaherty reports that the West Bridgewater Police Department responded to a rollover crash early Sunday morning, March 22.
At approximately 4:05 a.m. members of the West Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of Pleasant and Maple streets. Upon arrival officers determined that a vehicle had rolled over after striking a utility pole.
A male driver, identified as a 33-year-old from New Hampshire, and a female passenger, a 27-year-old from Methuen, were found to be pinned inside the vehicle and were rescued by firefighters on scene. They were both evaluated by EMS crews at the scene but refused transport to the hospital.
A small fire began near the area of the pole due to live wires being exposed, and National Grid was dispatched to the scene.
No charges have been filed at this time and the incident remains under investigation by the West Bridgewater Police Department.
