ROCHESTER, NH — Revolution Taproom & Grill may have temporarily closed its doors in an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), but the eatery has taken the situation as an opportunity to support those in need.
Owners Mark and Stacey Marchionni found themselves with a stock of food and no patrons to serve it to earlier this week when Gov. Chris Sununu ordered restaurants across the state to stop serving patrons onsite.
Rather than let the food go to waste, the restaurant decided to help the community that it calls home.
“This is a hard time for not just small businesses, but the whole community,” Stacey Marchionni said. “While closing the restaurant is a hardship, the silver lining to this situation is that we were able to take the food we had and donate it to those in need in our area.”
The Marchionnis, with the help of their staff, donated bread, fresh produce and dairy products on Tuesday to My Friend’s Place, a homeless shelter in Dover.
Revolution also donated various perishable and non-perishable foods such as soup, cereal and pasta earlier this week to the Spaulding High School Raider Station food pantry.
