The Ludlow Police Department would like to warn our town residents concerning an increase in the reports of suspected illegal solicitations for money through various methods. One such scam involves the false solicitation for money donations on behalf of the Ludlow Police and includes caller identification displays with “Ludlow Police” or “Town of Ludlow”.
These solicitations for donations are not in any way affiliated with the Ludlow Police Department. These types of solicitations are most likely false requests and should be verified through any means possible before payments are forwarded to the caller.
The Ludlow Police Department recommends that all town residents be very careful about any monetary transactions over the telephone or online without complete assurance that they are conducting legitimate transactions for goods or services. We also recommend diligent oversight of financial records through their banking and financial institutions that they transact with.
Residents may also contact the Ludlow Police Department’s non-emergency telephone number at 413-583-8305 if they wish to report any possible scams or suspicious solicitations.
