ARLINGTON– Chief Julie Flaherty reports that the Arlington Police Department has identified the operator involved in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash last night where a man was seriously injured.
After an investigation, the operator has been identified as a 80-year-old Cambridge man. He will be cited for Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries.
On Saturday, March 7 at approximately 10:15 p.m., Arlington Police received a 911 call reporting a pedestrian crash in the area of 112 Mass Ave. in Arlington.
Upon arrival, officers located a 48-year-old Baldwinville man who was laying in the roadway. The man was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. As of this morning, the man is reported to be in stable condition.
“We would like to thank the Cambridge Police Department and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section for their assistance with the investigation,” said Chief Flaherty. “Thanks to all of their help, we’ve been able to identify the operator of the vehicle.”
The operator will be arraigned at a later date at the Cambridge District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
