ARLINGTON — Chief Juliann Flaherty reports that Arlington Police arrested two men on drug-related charges on Friday.
MICHAEL J. BROWN, AGE 45, OF DEDHAM, was arrested and charged with Drug Law Violation and Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute. BROWN also had an outstanding felony warrant out of West Roxbury District Court for Larceny over $1,200.
THEODORE BABBITT, AGE 36, OF SOMMERVILLE, was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law. BABBITT also had a straight warrant out of Cambridge District Court for alleged Drug Possession and a Default Warrant out of Somerville District Court for alleged motor vehicle offenses.
In mid-February, Arlington Police became aware of an individual, later identified as BROWN, who was believed to be selling drugs in town, and immediately began an investigation.
On Friday, Feb. 28 just before 11:40 a.m., BROWN and BABBITT arrived at a Gardner Street apartment after setting up a meeting with an undercover officer. Two undercover police officers were waiting at the apartment, and arrested the pair following the meeting.
Police found 15.5 grams of Methamphetamine in BROWN’s possession at the time of his arrest.
BROWN and BABBITT were taken into custody without incident. They will be arraigned Monday, March 2 at the Cambridge District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
