TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening that injured three people and resulted in drunk driving charges for one of the drivers.
At approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, police officers responded to the area of 93 Frost Road for a report of a two-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found a blue GMC Sierra and a black Honda Odyssey had collided, each sustaining major front-end damage.
Officers found the operator of the Sierra, who has been identified as RONALD HENNESSEY, AGE 60, OF GROTON, sitting in the front seat of his vehicle.
Police observed several empty beer cans in both the front and back seats of the vehicle.
HENNESSEY has been charged with:
- OUI Alcohol with Serious Bodily Injury
- OUI, 2nd Offense
- Marked Lanes Violation
- Operating with Open Container, Alcohol
HENNESSEY and both occupants of the other vehicle, the 17-year-old male driver from Lowell and a 49-year-old male passenger from Dracut, were transported to Lowell General Hospital by Tyngsborough Ambulance and Trinity Ambulance. All three suffered serious injuries.
The Tyngsborough Fire Department also arrived on scene to provide assistance.
HENNESSEY will be arraigned at a later date.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
