EASTON — Superintendent Lisha Cabral and Easton School Committee Chair Nancy De Luca would like to invite the public to submit nominations for the name of the new Easton Early Elementary School.
WHEN:
Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
WHERE:
Oliver Ames High School’s Simmons Lecture Hall, 100 Lothrop St., North Easton
WHAT:
At the Feb. 13 School Committee meeting, the 7:30 p.m. agenda item will be hearing nominations of names for the new Easton Early Elementary School. Anyone interested in submitting a name for the school will have three to five minutes to make a presentation to the school committee.
The presentations should include reasons why the new school should be named based on the presenter’s suggestion.
Anyone who wishes to submit a name for consideration should email De Luca at ndeluca@easton.k12.ma.us by Monday, Feb. 10 with the name they wish to present at the coming meeting.
The new elementary school will be a state-of-the-art facility which consolidates the three current elementary schools into one school. The new school will be built on the current site of Parkview School and the district hopes for the school to be ready for students at the start of the 2022 school year.
Funding for the project was passed with a town-wide ballot vote in November 2019.
