Mansfield High School, 250 East St.
WHO:
Dr. Ruth A. Potee, MD, board-certified family physician and addiction medicine physician

Dr. Potee will be presenting “Addiction & The Developing Brain: What Every Parent Should Know About Their Teen’s Brain Development” to discuss substance abuse and how addictive behaviors affect teens’ brain development.
Her presentation will also include information about how the brain is injured by prolonged exposure to these substances and what can be done to keep teens substance-free throughout middle and high school.
“Addiction has affected almost every city and town across the country,” said Christine Dooling, Mansfield Public Schools Director of Health Services. “We want to take a proactive approach to combat addiction by educating the community about the dangers and effects it poses. I encourage everyone in our Mansfield community, including students, to attend this informative and engaging event.”
Dr. Potee’s visit is the result of a partnership between Mansfield Public Schools and the Mansfield Rotary Club, with support from the Mansfield Police Department and Mansfield Fire Department. The presentation is free to attend.
