For immediate release

WRENTHAM — Superintendent Paul Zinni seeks to notify the school community and residents about an ongoing police investigation:

“At approximately 3:30 p.m. today, I was notified of an incident where six students told school officials that someone had driven by them and pointed a gun at them as they walked from Dunkin Donuts back to the high school on Franklin Street after school.

None of the students were injured in the incident.

The Wrentham Police Department was immediately notified and they quickly responded and launched an investigation.

A letter has gone out to parents notifying them of the situation.

After-school activities, including a music concert tonight, will go on as-planned.

Parents and students may notice an increased police presence at the high school while the investigation is ongoing.

The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority and we will work with the Wrentham Police during this investigation and we thank them for their quick response.

Any further inquiries about the investigation should be referred to the Wrentham Police Department.”
