Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Exeter Historical Society, 47 Front St., Exeter
The Racial Unity Team is hosting the program, titled “An Introduction to Exeter’s Black History,” at its monthly meeting this February. The program is free and open to the public.
Exeter Historical Society Historian Barbara Rimkunas, also a member of the Racial Unity Team’s leadership, will give a presentation during the program about Jude Hall, a former slave and Revolutionary War veteran. Hall’s life story is representative of the hardships many New England based African Americans faced in early U.S. history.
The event will culminate with a discussion on how the community can continue learning about diversity through local history.
