Winthrop Police Department Celebrates Promotions of Five Members

WINTHROP -- Chief Terence M. Delehanty would like to congratulate five members of the Winthrop Police Department on their recent promotions.

Delehanty would like to congratulate five members of the Winthrop Police Department on their recent promotions.

James Feeley and Nancy Dalrymple were both promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant. Feeley and Dalrymple currently serve as an Officer in Charge in the Patrol Division. Ferruccio Romeo, Nicholas Bettano and Judy Racow were all promoted to Sergeant after serving as Patrolmen. All three will serve as Supervisors in the Patrol Division.

A promotion ceremony was held on Monday, Jan. 6. Town Clerk Carla Vitale swore in all five.

Lt. James Feeley

Lt. Feeley has been with the Winthrop Police Department for 17 years.

He held the rank of Sergeant for the department for three years. Prior to that, he served as Patrolman for six years and Reserve Police Officer for eight years. He is also a medic for the Metro North Special Operations Unit.

Lt. Nancy Dalrymple

Lt. Dalrymple has been a member of the Winthrop Police Department for nearly 40 years, making her the most senior member.

She held the rank of Sergeant for the department for 17 years. Prior to that, she served as a Patrolman for 20 years and a Reserve Police Officer for two years.

Sgt. Ferruccio Romeo

Sgt. Romeo has been with the Winthrop Police Department for the last 23 years. He served as Patrolman for 21 years and as a Reserve Police Officer for two years before that.

He is trained in accident reconstruction for the department.

Sgt. Judy Racow

Sgt. Racow has been with the Winthrop Police Department for the last 26 years. She spent the majority of her career in the Detective Unit. Prior to that, she served as a Reserve Police Officer for two years.

Racow is also a U.S. Army veteran.

Sgt. Nicholas Bettano

Sgt. Bettano has been a member of the Winthrop Police Department for the last five years. He served as Patrolman for for three years and as a Reserve Police Officer for three years.

He is a U.S. Army veteran and an active member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He is also a member of the Metro North Special Operations Unit.
