King Philip Regional High School Student Council Hosts Annual Holiday Party
NORFOLK — Superintendent Paul Zinni is pleased to announce that the King Philip Regional High School Student Council recently hosted its annual Holiday Party for seniors at the school.
The party, which is an annual tradition at KPHS, was held Thursday, Dec. 12.
As part of this year’s party, second graders at the H. Olive Day School in Norfolk joined the KPHS seniors for the festivities.
A total of 118 H. Olive Day School students arrived to the welcoming sounds of the KP Tri-Tones a cappella group and a decorated school. They were paired with teams from the 180 seniors who participated and joined the school’s band in the auditorium.
Once students were paired, they proceeded to the field house for crafts and games, as well as cookie decorating and snowman creating.
Lunch included pizza donated by several local establishments, including Eagle Brook, Norfolk Town Pizza, Wrentham Town Pizza, Plainville Town Pizza, Rico’s, Uno’s and Bertucci’s. Seniors also provided desserts.
After lunch, the second graders received a gift of a book from their new senior friends and had the chance to play games or read their new book.
“This event is a wonderful tradition, and all of our seniors and second graders had a terrific time,” King Philip Regional High School Principal Lisa Mobley said. “It is our hope that we will be able to reconnect with our elementary school friends at the end of the school year.”
The district plans to rotate elementary schools each year for the party, and will invite second graders from Wrentham and Plainville in the coming years.
