Taunton Police to Participate in ‘Shop with a Cop’ Event at Target with Kids from Local YMCA

TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh is pleased to announce that several Taunton Police officers will be participating in a “Shop with a Cop” event this weekend to help kids from the local YMCA pick out a gift of their choice at Target.

WHEN:

Saturday, Dec. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

WHERE:

81 Taunton Depot Drive, Taunton

WHAT:

About 25 kids from the Old Colony YMCA in Taunton will be provided a gift card courtesy of Target to purchase a gift with the help of about a dozen Taunton Police officers.

The officers will escort the kids through the department store to help them pick out either a gift for themselves or a gift that will be wrapped to take home for a family member or a friend.

“Our officers are looking forward to helping the kids pick out a gift this weekend. Shopping can be hard. Especially when it’s shopping for someone else. So hopefully our officers can give some good advice to the children and help them pick out the perfect gift,” Chief Walsh said. “We want to thank Target and the YMCA for helping to put this great event together.”
