Town of Marion Invites Residents to Attend Festival of Trees Event

MARION — Town Administrator James McGrail, Director of Recreation Jody Dickerson and Council on Aging Director Karen Gregory are pleased to share that Marion’s Festival of Trees event will take place this weekend.

WHEN:

-The opening reception will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 from 1-3 p.m.

-Weekday hours of the event will be Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.

WHERE:

Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center, 465 Mill St.

WHAT:

The Festival of Trees opening reception will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center to kick off the event.

The reception will include a variety of refreshments, an artisan sale and themed basket raffles. The basket raffle winners will be announced at 3 p.m. that day.

Residents can also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of 14 6-foot-6-inch Christmas trees, all of which will be decorated by local organizations, businesses, community groups and individuals.

Tree raffle tickets can be purchased up until noon on Thursday, Dec. 12 when the winners will be drawn. Trees will then be delivered to the raffle winners.

  • Christine & Michael Voss – Family Pets and Woodland Pets
  • Joyce Leblanc and Jean McCormack – Silver Shells
  • Dina Quinlan – Patriotism
  • Alzheimer’s Advocates/Co-Chair of Walk (2018-2019) Christine Gallagher & Barbara Meehan – Memories are Forever
  • Jill Pitman and Lynne Parks-Kuhl – ONE/Pink Moon Design
  • YMCA Group Fitness Class – Tree of Life & Happiness
  • Lissa Magauran and Ami Milano – Somewhere Over The Radio
  • Marion Recreation Department – Let’s Have Some Fun
  • Tri-Town Motors – Driving Home for the Holidays
  • Sippican School and VASE – Students Shine Bright This Holiday Season
  • Fairhaven Supportive Social Day – Seaside Holiday
  • Marion Council on Aging – A Very Vintage Christmas

The Festival of Trees is sponsored by The Friends of The Council on Aging, the Marion Council on Aging and the Marion Recreation Department.
