Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth to Host ‘Positive Alternatives to Student Suspension’ Conference
WAKEFIELD — Executive Director Margie Daniels is pleased to announce that Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth will host the “Positive Alternatives to Student Suspension” conference next week at Essex Northshore Agricultural and Technical School in Danvers.
The daylong conference will focus on offering positive alternatives to school suspension. Conference participants will be provided with mediation and restorative practice strategies along with other tools to enhance social and emotional development.

WHAT:
The Positive Alternatives to Student Suspension System (PASS) is an effective model for offering positive alternatives to school suspension.
Michelle Lipinski is the featured speaker at this conference. She will be joined by school administrators from Beverly, Danvers, Ipswich, Lynn Classical and Manchester-Essex High Schools, who will explain how the PASS Program works to reduce, and ideally eliminate, school suspensions.
Francine Rosenberg, M.Ed., Executive Director of Northshore Consortium, will highlight the need for brave leadership to find alternatives to suspending students from school.
