King Philip High School Holds Successful Food Drive to Benefit Local Families, Food Pantry
WRENTHAM — Superintendent Paul Zinni is pleased to share that King Philip Regional High School recently held a successful food drive that resulted in many boxes of items that will be donated to local families.
The drive ran for about two weeks earlier this month. Students and staff were encouraged to either make a donation or contribute non-perishable food. Donations included canned foods such as soup, fruits and vegetables, as well as other non-perishable snack items.
In all, the high school collected several boxes of food and gift cards that will be given to 12 local families in need. In addition, at least eight boxes of food items will be donated to the Wrentham Food Pantry.
KPHS teachers Lindsay Haynes, Lisa Halloway, Christina Logan and Leslee Differ, along with the National Honor Society and Peer Mentoring student groups, coordinated the drive, and report that this year is the most amount of food the drive has ever collected.
“It was great to see our students and staff support this cause and we are grateful to everyone who generously contributed items to the drive,” Superintendent Zinni said. “We’re happy to help out local families in need, especially as we approach the holiday season.”
