Newport Police Investigating Burglary

NEWPORT, Vermont — Chief Seth DiSanto reports that the Newport Police Department is investigating a weekend burglary.

On Sunday, Nov. 17, at 8:44 p.m. Newport Police were dispatched to Harvest Equipment, 29 Industrial Drive, for a report of a break-in. Upon arrival, officers initiated an on-scene investigation and determined that the building’s glass front doors were shattered using a tractor hitch.

Upon further investigation, Newport Police learned that a variety of items had been stolen from the facility, including 13 chainsaws, a set of four John Deere Gator rims and tires and a guitar.
