Whitman Police and Fire Departments Respond to Fatal Motorcycle Crash
WHITMAN — Police Chief Timothy Hanlon and Fire Chief Timothy Grenno report that the Whitman Police and Fire Departments responded to a fatal motorcycle crash Monday night.
The operator of the motorcycle, a 29-year-old Whitman man, died from his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
At approximately 9:35 p.m., the Whitman Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 360 High St. for a report of a crash.
Upon arrival, first responders located the victim, who was seriously injured. The man was taken by a Whitman Fire ambulance to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He later died from his injuries at the hospital.
The initial investigation indicates that the motorcycle operator struck two parked cars on High Street. The man was riding a 2012 Yamaha FZ1.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the Whitman Police Department and State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and Crime Prevention and Control (CPAC) unit responded to assist with the investigation.
High Street was closed while the scene was still active and has since been reopened.
