Somerset Officials Notify Residents of Demolition at Brayton Point on Sunday

Demolition to Take Place Between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

SOMERSET — Chief George McNeil and Somerset town officials would like to notify residents that a demolition project will take place at the former Brayton Point power plant on Sunday, Nov. 10.

The contractor performing the demolition of the property informed town officials of their plans on Saturday.

The demolition will take place between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Residents in the immediate area should anticipate loud bangs and noises while the work is ongoing.

A large portion of a building is being taken down, including the old power unit number three. The loudest noise will occur when larger portions of the building come down.
