Essex Tech Selected for Competitive Cybersecurity Awareness Training
DANVERS — Superintendent Heidi Riccio is pleased to announce that Essex Tech has been selected to take part in the state’s Cybersecurity Awareness Grant program.
Overseen by the Executive Office of Technology Services and Security, the Cybersecurity Awareness Program seeks to address training and assessment gaps in cybersecurity throughout the Commonwealth. In an effort to bolster general cybersecurity throughout the state’s municipal agencies and public schools, the grant provides organizations with training, evaluation, threat simulation and assessment resources and tools.
“We are eager to learn more about cybersecurity as we use technology on a daily basis,” Superintendent Riccio said. “Our mission is to educate the future workforce and they will be exposed to technology in every career path they choose. We are grateful to the state for giving our staff the tools they need to hone their knowledge of cybersecurity, and to pass those skills on to our students as well.”
The one-year program will train 20 full-time Essex Tech employees from five departments, beginning this November. Additional staff members may join the training as well. The training initiative will be overseen by the Executive Office of Technology Services & Security (EOTSS) and ProofPoint, a California based cybersecurity company.
