Acton Fire Department Extinguishes Multi-Vehicle Fire at Dealer Storage Lot

ACTON — Chief Robert Hart reports that the Acton Fire Department extinguished a multi-vehicle fire at a commercial parking area yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 2:54 p.m. Wednesday, the Acton Fire Department responded to 2 Powder Mill Rd. for the report of a vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters located multiple vehicles on fire in a lot used by Wheeler Dealer Inc. for overflow vehicle storage.

The responding crews were Engine 23, Ladder 28, Car 30 and Maynard Fire Department’s Engine 2. Five Acton firefighters and three Maynard firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.

Four vehicles burned and are a total loss. Three additional vehicles sustained significant damage due to their proximity to the burning vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

After an initial investigation was conducted by Acton Fire and Acton Police, the cause of the fire is thought to be an electrical issue with one of the vehicle’s starters.

Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 4:26 p.m. Wednesday.

Chief Hart would like to thank the Maynard Fire Department for their assistance at the scene.
