King Philip Regional High School Students Host Local Children for Ninth Annual Spooktacular Event
WRENTHAM — King Philip Regional School District Superintendent Paul Zinni is pleased to share that King Philip Regional High School student groups hosted local kids for its ninth annual Spooktacular Halloween event last weekend.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, the King Philip High School Student Council, along with other high school service groups and honor societies, welcomed approximately 100 local children to their annual Spooktacular.
The Gender-Sexuality-Alliance Club and the National Honor Society offered small pumpkin painting, the Art National Honor Society did face-painting, KP Cares and several other groups did arts and crafts, DECA offered activities in conjunction with their members’ DECA projects, athletic teams played games such as football toss and corn hole and children could watch the movie “Coco” in the library. Each student group also handed out treats.
The event took place at the high school, which was decorated by student council members and featured a spider-themed hallway for the kids to walk through. The front garden was also decorated with carved pumpkins from the Norfolk Lions and Norfolk Community Leagues Haunted Train Ride event and each club that offered activities decorated their own table.
“The annual Spooktacular event is a great few hours of fun activities for our community’s younger children,” student council adviser Barbara Snead said. “Our high school students enjoy putting on the event each year and we are always happy to see so many student groups and teams that are willing to participate and spend a Saturday coordinating different activities for the kids.”
The event was co-chaired by high school students Sam Brady, Russell Kitsis and student council president Marion Linde.
