Stoneham Police Investigating Multiple Instances of Vandalism

STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is investigating after graffiti was located at the Robin Hood School.

At 2:38 p.m., Stoneham Police were dispatched to the Robin Hood School, 70 Oak St., for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, officers located multiple pieces of spray painted graffiti on an exterior wall and playground equipment.

The graffiti included spray painted “666” a “pentagram” shape and a devil’s head. During the investigation at the school, a passerby indicated to the responding officer that similar graffiti had been painted at the Redstone Shopping Center and on street signs and poles on Oak Street. Similar markings were also located on Sunrise Avenue, Montvale Avenue, Cottage Street and William Street.

The markings were done in a combination of blue, silver and red paint in different areas. Stoneham Police also responded to a similar report at Stoneham High School on Friday.

The incidents remain under active investigation by the Stoneham Police Department, and officers will maintain increased vigilance in seeking out potential vandalism activity in town.
