Ipswich Police Respond after DPW Truck becomes Trapped in Phone Lines

IPSWICH — Chief Paul Nikas reports that the Ipswich Police Department responded to a public works vehicle which became trapped in phone lines Monday morning.

Police responded to 104 County Road, near the entrance of the Ipswich Department of Public Works (DPW) yard, at approximately 10:39 a.m. on Monday for a report of a DPW vehicle that had become trapped in telephone wires.

No one was injured in the incident , and no power lines were involved. The incident did disrupt phone service in the immediate area, but no power outages occurred as a result of the incident.

Route 1A was temporarily reduced to one lane of traffic while Verizon crews worked to repair the phone lines. No timetable for return of phone service in the area is available at this time.
