Route 119 in Pepperell Currently Limited to Single Lane After Fuel Spill

PEPPERELL — Chief David Scott reports that Route 119 in the area of Powhatan Rd. in Pepperell is currently limited to one lane, Monday evening, after a vehicle struck an object in the road, puncturing its gas tank and causing a fuel spill.

At approximately 12:11 p.m., a 2013 Toyota Tundra was traveling west on Route 119 from Groton and struck an object in the road near Powhatan Rd. The object punctured the Tundra’s gas tank and spilled an estimated 21 gallons of gas onto the road.

Members of the MassDOT Highway Division and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection have responded to the scene.

Officers are on scene to direct traffic while crews work to clean up the spill.

Drivers should expect delays. It is unclear at this time when the repairs will be complete.
