Andover Fire Rescue to Host Open House
ANDOVER — Fire Chief Michael Mansfield is pleased to invite members of the community to Andover Fire Rescue’s upcoming Open House.
Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Andover Fire Rescue Headquarters, 32 North Main St.
- Andover Firefighters
- Members of the Andover Police Department
- Andover Health Division
- Andover TRIAD Council
Andover Fire Rescue will host community members of all ages at its open house, which will feature a variety of family and kid-friendly activities and demonstrations, as well as important fire safety educational materials.
This year’s open house will include a side-by-side sprinkler demonstration trailer, which will showcase the difference sprinklers make in quickly suppressing and limiting the damage caused by a fire. The sprinkler demonstration will take place at 12:15 p.m.
Andover Fire Rescue will also have a Fire Awareness Safety Trailer and various other fire safety demonstrations. All of Andover Fire Rescue’s emergency vehicles will also be on display at the event. In addition, the Andover Health Division will take part in the event by providing free flu vaccines on site.
The Andover TRIAD Council will also have a presence at the open house. The group develops and implements policies and programs aimed at reducing victimization of the senior community. It also promotes crime prevention and safety awareness for seniors in Andover.
“We look forward to our open house every year because it’s a great way to meet members of the community and showcase the work our firefighters do,” Chief Mansfield said. “It’s also a great opportunity for adults and kids to learn about fire safety, including what they can do to prevent fires from starting in the first place.”
The event is free to attend, and all are welcome.
