CONCORD — Chief Joseph O’Connor is pleased to announce that three members of the Concord Police Department completed their academy training earlier this week and were sworn in yesterday.

Officers Derek Rodriguez, Matthew McEvilly and Nicholas Benoit graduated from the MBTA Transit Police Academy on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

This morning, Officers Rodriguez, McEvilly and Benoit appeared before Concord Town Clerk Kaari Tari to be sworn in.

“I want to congratulate our new officers for excelling at the rigorous Transit Police Academy,” Chief O’Connor said. “I wish each officer well as they begin serving our community.”

Officer Rodriguez was born and raised in Holyoke. He attended Westfield State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, with a minor in psychology.
