Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments Respond to Serious Crash Involving Motorcycle and Pickup Truck

BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Christopher Delmonte and Fire Chief Thomas Levy report that the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a serious crash Wednesday night involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Broad Street (Route 18) and High Street after receiving several 911 calls reporting a crash.

Upon arrival, Bridgewater Fire paramedics and Bridgewater Police officers rendered aid to the male operator of the motorcycle who is believed to have suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. The man was transported by a Bridgewater Fire ambulance to the parking lot of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., where he was picked up by a medical helicopter and transported to Boston Medical Center. His current condition is unknown at this time.

The male operator of the pickup truck was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton by a Bridgewater Fire Department ambulance with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The cause of the crash is under active investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.

The crash caused a temporary closure of the intersection while the scene was active. The intersection has since been cleared.

Further information will be released as it becomes available.
