Bridgewater Fire Department to Host Open House on Oct. 6
BRIDGEWATER — To celebrate Fire Prevention Week, Chief Thomas Levy is pleased to invite residents to the Bridgewater Fire Department’s 2019 Open House.
Fire Prevention Week is coming up on Oct. 6-12. This year’s theme, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!” is aimed at educating everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

Sunday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE:
Bridgewater Fire Station 2, 774 Plymouth St., Bridgewater
WHAT:
The Bridgewater Fire Department’s 2019 open house will go on rain or shine and residents of all ages are invited to attend.
“This year’s open house will be one of our biggest and most fun events of the year,” Chief Levy said. “We look forward to showing off our department and equipment and hope to see a large turnout.”
There will be several activities for children and adults of all ages including fire extinguisher demonstrations at noon and a hydraulic extrication tool demonstration at 12:30 p.m.
Other activities going on throughout the day are:
- Tower truck demonstrations
- Explore the SAFE trailer
- Meet Chief Levy
- Sign up for Bridgewater Seniors First
- Check out the fire gear
- CPR, AED and Narcan demonstrations
- Face Painting
- Free Blood Pressure Checks
- Free Refreshments
There will also be a drawing for Bridgewater kids to win a ride to school in a fire truck. To sign up for the contest, download the form below and fill out the information on the entrant form.
The last open house the department hosted was in 2016 and about 100 people attended.
