Hull Police Provide Update About Anti-Semitic, Racist Graffiti Discovered at Fort Revere Over Labor Day Weekend

HULL — Chief John Dunn reports that the investigation into racist and anti-Semitic graffiti spray painted at Fort Revere over Labor Day weekend has been closed after multiple juveniles have been charged.

Because the case involves juveniles, and is being processed through the juvenile justice system, there is limited information that can be disclosed publicly about the results of the case and those being charged.

At approximately 9:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 2, Hull Police were notified that visitors of the park had discovered several pieces of anti-Semitic and racist graffiti. Some 20 different messages and crude drawings were spray painted on the walls and ground of the old fort.

Hull Police officers responded and an investigation was launched by the HPD Detectives Unit.

After seeking the public’s assistance in the case, Hull Police received an anonymous tip from a person who allegedly saw the individuals painting and then departing the area. The tipster was able to provide Hull Police with images they took with their cellphone.

Through the information provided by the anonymous tip and through the investigative efforts of Detective Andrew Reilly, the individuals who spray painted the fort were identified and charged. None of the juveniles charged reside in Hull.

“This was excellent police work by Detective Reilly and I am glad that we were able to identify the suspects and bring closure to this case,” Chief Dunn said. “Hateful acts like these will not be tolerated in Hull and will be investigated to the fullest extent of our abilities.”

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
