PEPPERELL — Chief David Scott reports that the Pepperell Police Department responded after a skydiving plane crash landed this afternoon at Pepperell Airport.

At 12:40 p.m., Pepperell Police and Fire were dispatched to Pepperell Airport, 165 Nashua Road, for a report of a plane crash. Upon arrival, first responders determined that the two occupants of the plane were not injured as a result of the incident.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Cessna Caravan was attempting to land following a skydiving run when its nose struck the runway, causing it to leave the pavement and come to rest in the grass approximately 50 feet away.

The Federal Aviation Administration was made aware of the incident and the cause remains under investigation.
