Winthrop Police Share Road Closure and Detour Information Prior to ‘I Love Winthrop’ Festival
WINTHROP – Chief Terence Delehanty and the Winthrop Police Department wish to share road closure and detour information with residents prior to this weekend’s ‘I Love Winthrop’ Festival.
The festival will be held from 12-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in French Square. A map of road detours and closures can be found by clicking here.
Beginning at 9 a.m. French Square will be closed to traffic, and starting at 10 a.m., Somerset Avenue will be closed where it intersects with Cottage Park Road.
Woodside Avenue will be closed from Pauline Street through French Square. Woodside Avenue from Pleasant Street will remain open and as motorists approach French Square, they will be directed by police officers left, up Bartlett Road.
Somerset Avenue and Cottage Park Road will be open to residents only on Saturday.
The festival will end at 6 p.m. and the surrounding streets are expected to be re-opened to traffic by 7 p.m. Saturday
