Bagnall Elementary School Holds Pizza Party to Thank Summer Staff

GROVELAND — Principal Emily Puteri is pleased to share that Bagnall Elementary School partnered with a local firefighter and entrepreneur to thank summer staff last week.

Revere Firefighter Kevin Doherty, who owns and operates 3rd Alarm Wood Fired Pizza, visited the school on Wednesday, Aug. 21 with his restored 1968 Mack Fire Truck. The truck houses a wood fire pizza oven, and Firefighter Doherty served staff fresh pizza during the lunchtime event. He was joined by fellow Revere Firefighter John Serino.

Summer custodians Lisa Stevens and Isabel Dagas also made assorted salads for the event, and prepared an ice cream sundae bar.

All Bagnall Elementary School summer staff, including custodians, administrators, administrative assistants and technology specialists attended the lunch at the school. Parent volunteers were also invited to the event, as well as summer employees throughout Pentucket Regional School District.

“Assistant Principal Jim Day and I wanted to thank our staff, and hosting a pizza party just seemed like the perfect way to celebrate their hard work this summer,” Principal Puteri said. “They have all worked tirelessly to get the school ready for our staff and students, and we’re fortunate to have such a dedicated group at Bagnall Elementary.”

This summer, Bagnall custodians rearranged many classrooms as the school changed its layout for grades one through six, and also painted hallways and rooms, renovated faculty work rooms and created a student meditation room, among other projects.

“This was a really great way to thank all of our summer staff and volunteers, and the pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had,” said Vice Principal Jim Day. “Thank you to everyone who has prepared us so well for another great year at Bagnall Elementary, and for those who helped us put on this pizza event as well, in particular the PTA.”
