Stoneham Police Arrest Teen Following Stabbing
STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department arrested a teenager in connection with a stabbing that occurred Friday night.
A JUVENILE MALE, AGE 17, OF STONEHAM, was arrested and charged with:
- Armed Robbery
- Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury
At 9:07 p.m., a 20-year-old male who had suffered a stab wound entered the Stoneham police station. Stoneham Police administered aid on-site and initiated an investigation into the incident. The victim reported that he had been stabbed during an altercation in the area of Capen Street.
Through the subsequent investigation, officers learned that the victim had been stabbed by an individual who is known to him. Stoneham Police have since located and taken the suspect, a JUVENILE MALE, into custody. There is no threat to the public as a result of this incident.
The victim was transported to Lahey Clinic with serious injuries.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Stoneham Police Department, which is being assisted on-scene by the Massachusetts State Police.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
