Dighton Fire Department Extinguishes Vehicle Fire at Auto Auction Business

DIGHTON – Chief Christopher Maguy reports that the Dighton Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire that destroyed five vehicles at a local auto auction business early this morning.

At approximately 12:25 a.m. Friday, the Dighton Fire Department responded to Manheim New England, 123 Williams St. for a report of a car fire.

Upon arrival firefighters located a group of vehicles that were on fire in an outside parking lot.

The responding crews were Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Ambulance 1, Rescue 1, Car 1 and Car 2.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

There were no reported injuries in the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and at this time, the incident is not considered suspicious.
