SAU 16 Superintendent David Ryan Nominated to Serve on Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
EXETER — The SAU 16 School Board is pleased to announce that Superintendent David Ryan has been nominated to serve as an honorary member on the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.
Superintendent Ryan is among four candidates who were selected by the Chamber’s nominating committee to serve three-year terms, from fiscal 2020 to fiscal 2022, on its Board of Directors.
“It’s an honor to have an opportunity to contribute to the amazing work the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce does to support our local businesses,” Superintendent Ryan said. “Their initiatives to strengthen our community have played an integral role in bolstering our region’s economy and in promoting this area as a wonderful place to live and work, and I can think of no better partnership right now for SAU 16 than with this area’s business community.”
The committee also nominated Rob Ficara, owner of the Exeter Bowling Lanes and Shooters Pub; Devin Oot, development and marketing manager at HAVEN; and Melissa Koren Wilson, owner of Melissa Koren Wilson Photography, to join the board.
Chamber members will vote on the official appointment of the four nominees during their annual meeting on Aug. 20 at the Business After Hours at the Exeter Inn.
Superintendent Ryan was selected by the nomination committee, and in addition to his role as the Superintendent at SAU 16, has 23 years of experience as an educational leader in New Hampshire.
Previously, Superintendent Ryan served as Superintendent of SAU 53, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Manchester School District, Principal of Nashua High School North and Assistant Principal at Manchester High School Central. In 2012, he was selected as the Charles A. Napoli New Hampshire State Principal of the Year, and in 2013, he was chosen as one of three National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP)/MetLife National Principal of the Year Finalists.
