Mascoma Valley Names Rodney Brown as New Athletic Director
ENFIELD, N.H. — Superintendent Amanda Isabelle is pleased to announce that Rodney Brown has been named Mascoma Valley Regional School District’s new athletic director.
Brown will be the district’s first full-time athletic director, and will begin his new position on Monday, July 15. As the district’s athletic director, he will oversee all of Mascoma Valley Regional High School’s sports and co-curricular activities, as well as the district’s athletic facilities, equipment, programming and staff. He will also be responsible for overseeing the scheduling of the district’s athletic facilities.
Brown, of Concord, has served for the past year as the Teen and Sports Director at the Allard Center YMCA in Goffstown, and from 2006-2018 he served as a Special Educator and Behavior Specialist at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine. While working at Noble High, he also served as the sports management assistant for the school. For 12 years, he was also the head boys track and field coach at Noble High, and for 11 years he served as the head soccer coach.
In 2010, 2015 and 2016, he was named the Southwestern Maine Activities Association’s (SMAA) Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year, and in 2008, he was honored as the SMAA Conference Girl’s Soccer Coach of the Year.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Rodney to our team here at Mascoma Valley,” Superintendent Isabelle said. “He has a great range of experiences under his belt as an educator and in athletics, and I’m confident he will thrive in this role and support our students’ success on and off the field.”
He holds a master’s degree in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in marketing from St. Joseph’s College of Maine.
Brown also has an Athletic Administration Certificate, Maine K-12 Business Education Conditional Certificate and training in CPR/First Aid/Safety Care. He is also an ASHI CPR/First Aid Trainer and USA Level I Archery Instructor.
He replaces former Athletic Director John Kelly, who retired on June 30 after 11 years of dedication to the Mascoma School District.
